Camp Cherith Ontario




Camp Cherith located in Walkerton has been providing a quality Christian camp program for children and youth since 1954. Their customized outdoor activities help campers aged 6 to 16 gain self confidence, develop leadership skills, and grow socially and spiritually. The camp's Christian environment is an intentional integration of Faith and activity. 2013 will be their 60th Summer of providing quality Christian camping!

Camp Programs Include:

Girls Camp
For girls ages 6 to 16 years. It's a unique opportunity for girls to be in a supportive learning environment, with strong female role models. Programs are non-competitive and individualized, all designed to help build character, increase self esteem. and spiritual development.

Co-ed Camp
This co-ed camp for children and youth from ages 6 to 16 years provides activity programming and is individually determined by age and interests. Activities are carefully designed so that fun and personal growth coincide. They offer tangible skill development and measurable outcomes.

Day Camp
Camp Cherith also offers a day camp option.

Canoe Trip
Canoe trips are open to campers ages 12 to 16. The camp has one of the best canoe routes in Southern Ontario. Participants focus on teamwork and communication, gain self confidence, build character, develop leadership skills, and mature socially and spiritually while gaining canoeing expertise.

Looking for Leadership Prog​rams?

The camp offers a Junior Leadership co-ed program for grades 7 and 8 that offers goal setting, peer mentoring, insight into peer pressure and responsible decision-making. Leadership development must begin during the formative years of youth. Not only will campers gain more self esteem and interact more easily and effectively with their peers, they will also learn to make a spiritual impact on their community.

The Campers in Leadership Training (CILT) program provides a unique educational and practical challenge for high school age campers with leadership potential. Participants will have opportunities to increase their skills and abilities, deepen their knowledge and application of Scripture, and gain a variety of leadership experiences. CILT trains them for future leadership and service in their churches, camps, and communities.

Equestrian Camp
The Equestrian programs is open to campers ages 10 to 16. It's an exciting week of both horse and traditional camp activities. Campers receive 10 hours of instruction in riding, equine health, stabling, and safety. Lessons are tailored to suit the abilities of each rider. This program is for the serious horse lover!

Father-Son Weekend
Camp Cherith values the parent-child relationship. Each year, they offer a Father-Son Weekend. This weekend together at Cherith can strengthen an adult-child (or teen) bond in ways that few experiences in daily life can. It's also an incredible opportunity to connect with God through worship in a tranquil, natural setting that proclaims the wonder of his creation. For ages 4 to 74.

Mother-Daughter Weekend
There is also a special Mom-Daughter Weekend. The weekend is an opportunity to spend some quality time together, meet other moms and daughters, try new activities, take home a craft, canoe on the river, try archery, and more! There is time to enjoy campfire singing or relax and enjoy the outdoors and each other. For ages 4 to 74.
