Trains & Toys
On the weekend, we visited the Toronto Christmas Train Show and the Toy and Doll Collectors’ Show at the International Centre in Mississauga. The Train show featured 70,000 square feet of tracks, exhibits, and even clinics demonstrating how to build layouts and scenery. Vendors showcased toy trains (Thomas!), model engines (surprisingly quite expensive), paraphernalia (train tickets from the 1940′s, vintage track maps), DVDs, and picture books.
A train enthusiast’s dream come true (my little boy and his grandfather had a wonderful time), the event was a unique outing for the entire family. Take a look at our photos:
Later in the day, we made our way to the Toy & Doll Collectors’ Show. Dealers featured classic tin toys from the 1950′s, Barbie dolls, matchbox cars, and rare collectibles from as far away as Japan.
Feeling nostalgic for childhood, we made our way through the show and even made a few special purchases. Here are our photos:
