A FREE nature program for families. Connect with the natural world and come out to Downsview Park!

Downsview Park staff will take you on a free outdoor Park program based on nature-themed topics to get you exploring the natural world, starting with Downsview Park!

Using natural and human-made materials, participants will explore a naturalized area and engage in free-play. This program encourages imagination, exploration and group-play. Please note this program is unstructured and encourages a hands-off approach from adults. More information about the program will be sent to families after enrollment.

All participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. This program may take place on rough trails, strollers are not recommended. Please do not bring animals* to Nature Connection programs and remember to dress for the weather.

*Service animals are always welcome.

Art in the Park - June 23
Creativitiy is at the heart of this program. Spend some time appreciating and taking in the beauty that surrounds us in nature. Use a variety of materials found within the park to create some of your own masterpieces.

Insect Investigation - July 14
Butterflies, Bees, and Beetles, Oh my! You’d be amazed at what you can find when you stop to smell the roses! There are plenty of tiny critters found within Downsview Park that we don’t realize are right under our noses. Come out, play some games, and explore the world of an insect's life at Downsview Park.

Water World - July 28
Join us on our water walk through the park! Learn about how water works and ways we can keep our water clean. We will also be doing some water experiments. Be prepared to get wet!
