Power Kids: Free Kids Activities

These FREE arts workshops for children ages 7-12 begin with a tour of the gallery and conclude with an art activity, inspired by the ideas behind the current exhibition. Tours and workshops are led by Amanda Foulds, Power Kids Family Programs Coordinator and assisted by Erica Cristobal, Power Kids Teaching Assistant.

In this workshop, participants will create an assemblage using found objects of the same colour to tell a story.

DIY Survival Kit
In this workshop, we will use travel-size objects to invent our own survival kit, combining materials that bring us comfort.

Making Faces
In this workshop, participants will create multiple portraits using wax and watercolour paint resulting in a layered image.

24 Nov 2019, 3:00 PM
PK Poetry Slam
In this workshop, we will learn how to put together words and rhymes to create poems. The program will end with an open mic for participants to share their writing.

08 Dec 2019, 3:00 PM
We Are The Stars
In this workshop, we will collectively create an alternate universe on black paper using paint, tin foil, plastic wrap, tape, and marbles.
