Bloor-Yorkville Icefest

Don’t miss these really cool winter carnival celebrations! Kids will enjoy tube sledding, ice skating, mid-ways, dog-sled demos and rides, carriage rides, and of course, see loads of carved ice sculptures. Best of all, these events are Free!

Richmond Hill Winter Carnival
Feb 5 to 7, 2016
The Richmond Hill Winter Carnival is a weekend of affordable fun and entertainment organized by volunteers to celebrate the community of Richmond Hill in a welcoming atmosphere. Bookmark February 5, 6 and 7 for some family fun. Carnival weekend highlights include a Viking village, ice carving, face painting, kids rides, pony rides, Sunday morning pancake breakfast, and much more! Free.

Newmarket Winterfest
Feb 6 to 7, 2016
Celebrate winter at this annual festival that features two days of fun winter activities across Newmarket. Try new activities, foods and enjoy live music. Admission is free, with a minimal fee for some activities, food and drinks. Food donations are appreciated.

Barrie Winterfest
Feb 6 to 7, 2016
Named one of the Top 100 Festivals in Ontario, Winterfest is a great way to celebrate the Winter season with adventures that the whole family will enjoy. Outdoor activities include a polar bear swim, horse drawn wagon rides, dog-sled rides, mini-tube run, lumberjack shows, giant snow slide, ice maze, and more. The Festival of Ice features 300 pound blocks of ice carved into spectacular, themed sculptures. The February Blues Festival features great music in venues throughout Barrie and neighbouring communities. Free admission.

Lowville Winter Games in Burlington
Note: This year, the annual Lowville Winter Games in Burlington will not be held. It's being replace with Love My Hood: a Winter Edition pop-up Neighbourhood Rink Party. There will be up to 18 smaller neighbourhood pop-up events at local neighbourhood rinks throughout the winter with tobogganing and skating (weather permitting), weather-related games, snow painting and snowshoeing. If there's no snow, the events will feature family-friendly lawn darts and a scavenger hunt. No dates or times have been scheduled so visit the website for updates. Free admission.
