Hockey Hall of Fame Celebrates Canada 150
July 30 to September 4, 2017
Celebrate Canada's 150th Anniversary this summer at the Hockey Hall of Fame. On display from June 30 – September 4, 2017, enjoy access to the boards that were part of the iconic Kandahar Airfield ball hockey rink during the Canadian engagement in Afghanistan. The rink, a symbol of Canadian presence in the middle of the desert, served as a social escape for soldiers to participate in our national passion as well as the site for morale-boosting games that involved visiting NHL players, Members of Parliament and notable personalities.

The long-standing event – where Toronto celebrates Canada Day – continues with a special Canada 150 edition highlighting urban music and culture from Toronto, Canada and the world through Persian funk, Indigenous hip hop and indie rock, and Afro-Latin soul. Site animations including family-friendly activities, outdoor theatre, circus arts and a hospitality area offering food and beverage will be available for the public throughout the day. A spectacular fireworks show will end the evening at 10:55 pm. Free admission.

The Community Folk Art Council of Toronto will be hosting a 150 Celebrate Canada Parade, the “ Parade of Nations”, with participants of over 20 countries and community groups, with 1500 individual participants, from all diverse cultures and ethnic groups in full traditional costumes, proudly showcasing floats about their contributions to Canada.
