Cineplex Events Kicks Off a Flurry of Holiday Fun with Holly Jolly Programming.
Cineplex Events invites families to celebrate the joy of the holidays at the movies. Whether it's a yuletide classic film or stage event, this year's Cineplex Events' holiday programming has something for the whole family. Audiences will have a chance to revisit some of the biggest holiday favourites of all time the way they were meant to be seen; on the big screen.
Moviegoers can introduce a new generation of John Hughes' fans to the precocious eight-year-old Kevin McCallister in Home Alone; relive the magic of Miracle On 34th Street (1947); laugh along with Will Ferrell as 'Buddy' in the instant classic, Elf; go on an immersive adventure aboard the Polar Express in 3D; get swept away by the hit Broadway production Irving Berlin's Holiday Inn based on the Fred Astaire and Bing Crosby classic film Holiday Inn; experience a beloved holiday tradition at The Nutcracker as performed by the Bolshoi Ballet; and reunite with the all-star cast of Love Actually.

Macaulay Culkin stars as Kevin McCallister, an eight-year-old boy who is accidentally left behind when his family flies to Paris for their Christmas vacation. At first, Kevin enjoys his newfound independence, but soon has to defend his home against two bumbling burglars' attempts to break-in.
Miracle On 34th Street (1947) – A Classic Film Series Presentation

In this Christmas classic, an old man going by the name of Kris Kringle (Edmund Gwenn) fills in for an intoxicated Santa in Macy's annual Thanksgiving Day Parade. Kringle proves to be such a hit that he is soon appearing regularly at the chain's main store in midtown Manhattan. When Kringle surprises customers and employees alike by claiming that he really is Santa Claus, it leads to a court case to determine his mental health and, more importantly, his authenticity.

Buddy (Will Ferrell) was accidentally transported to the North Pole as a toddler and raised to adulthood among Santa's elves. Unable to shake the feeling that he doesn't fit in, the adult Buddy travels to New York, in full elf uniform, in search of his real father. As it happens, this is Walter Hobbs (James Caan), a cynical businessman. After a DNA test proves this, Walter reluctantly attempts to start a relationship with the childlike Buddy with increasingly chaotic results.

This Roundabout Theatre Company's production of Holiday Inn was captured live from Broadway's Studio 54. Jim (Pinkham) leaves the bright lights of show business behind to settle down on his farmhouse in Connecticut, but life just isn't the same without a bit of song and dance. Jim's luck takes a spectacular turn when he meets Linda (Gayer), a spirited schoolteacher with talent to spare. Together, they turn the farmhouse into a fabulous inn with dazzling performances to celebrate each holiday, from Thanksgiving to the Fourth of July. But when Jim's best friend Ted (Bleu) tries to lure Linda away to be his new dance partner in Hollywood, will Jim be able to salvage his latest chance at love?

Love Actually – One Nighters @ VIP

Nine intertwined stories examine the complexities of the one emotion that connects us all: love. Among the characters explored are David (Hugh Grant), the handsome newly elected British prime minister who falls for a young junior staffer (Martine McCutcheon), Sarah (Laura Linney), a graphic designer whose devotion to her mentally ill brother complicates her love life and Harry (Alan Rickman), a married man tempted by his attractive new secretary.

New York City policeman John McClane (Bruce Willis) is visiting his estranged wife (Bonnie Bedelia) and two daughters on Christmas Eve. He joins her at a holiday party in the headquarters of the Japanese-owned business she works for. The festivities are interrupted by a group of terrorists who take over the exclusive high-rise, and everyone in it. Very soon McClane realizes that there's no one to save the hostages but him.
