As for the main attraction, there are countless pumpkins in the fields to choose from. Choosing a pumpkin is easy! Decide first if you want it for decorating or for eating. Look for a pumpkin that has a great shape and that is a deep orange. Make sure it is free of cuts, soft spots, or bruises, and that the stem is attached. The flesh should feel firm, and not give easily. Keep your fresh-picked pumpkin in a dry, cool place. Don't forget to save the seeds if you like roasted pumpkin seeds.
