A Triathlon Series Just For Kids!

The Sun-Rype TRi KiDS Triathlon Series, Ontario's largest series for kids, presents five great races for the 2010 season. Newmarket (new!), Burlington (new!), Oakville, Bracebridge and Milton are the host communities and each venue provides a unique race setting for participants and spectators alike.

TRi KiDS Triathlons are non-competitive, safe events for 3-15 year olds that promote participation in three fun 'lifestyle' sports; swimming, biking and running.  The philosophy behind the series is one of complete not compete. By focusing on the achievement of each young individual TRi KiDS races inspire self-confidence and motivate kids to stay active through sport.
 
The distance each participant completes is based on their age.  They start off with a pool swim and then head off on the traffic-free bike and run course. All that's required is a swim suit, a bike in good working order, a helmet, running shoes and a bunch of enthusiasm. Family and friends won't want to miss this!

Each participant receives a unique Sun-Rype TRi KiDS t-shirt, a personalized race bib and a finishers medal. Most importantly, each one is awarded a healthy boost of self-esteem and an experience to last a lifetime.

The Sun-Rype TRi KiDS Triathlon Series is proud to support the Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (POGO).  Last year, TRi KiDS athletes raised $17,000 through personal fundraising and we hope to top $25,000 in 2010.

Newmarket – Sunday, June 13, 2010
A great way to celebrate the end of the school year! A new venue to the TRi KiDS series.  The race takes place at the Ray Twinney Recreation Complex.

Burlington – Sunday, June 27, 2010
Another new venue! Participants swim in a heated outdoor 50m pool. A great race course!

Oakville – Sunday, July 11, 2010
Appleby College’s beautiful campus is the site for TRi KiDS Oakville.  Sold out in 2009 – register early!

Bracebridge – Saturday, August 7, 2010
The charming Town of Bracebridge, branded the "Heart of Muskoka", welcomes TRi KiDS athletes and their families.  A beautiful setting and a great family getaway.

Milton – Saturday, September 18, 2010
The final TRi KiDS race of the season will be held at E.C Drury School. The event, which sold out 2 weeks prior to the race in 2009, is expected to attract over 600 participants.
