A Triathlon Series Just For Kids!

Tri Kids Triathlon Series, Ontario's newest series for kids, is excited to announce four races for the 2009 season. Mississauga, Oakville, Bracebridge and Milton are the host communities and each one provides a unique race setting. Tri Kids Triathlons are non-competitive, safe events designed for 3 to15 year olds. We celebrate participation and promote fitness by having fun.

The philosophy behind our series is one of complete not compete. Focusing on a positive experience and the extraordinary achievement of each young individual we hope to encourage a healthy lifestyle and inspire self-confidence.

The distance each participant completes will be based on their age on December 31, 2009. They start off with a swim in the indoor pool and then head off on the traffic-free bike and run course. All that's required is a swim suit, a bike in good working order, a helmet, running shoes and a bunch of enthusiasm. Family and friends won't want to miss this!

Each participant receives a unique Tri Kids race t-shirt, a swim cap, a goody bag and a finishers medal. Most importantly, each one is awarded a healthy boost of self-esteem and an experience to last a lifetime.

The Tri Kids Triathlon Series has partnered with Race 4 Kids, a fundraising organization that supports the Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario. POGO's mission is to continuously improve children's cancer care in Ontario by ensuring access to the best services for patients and their families. Participants in the Tri Kids Series are encouraged to fundraise to help make a difference in the lives of children battling cancer.

Mississauga - June 21, 2009
A great way to celebrate the end of the school year! Tri Kids Mississauga is expected to be a sell-out so register early. The race takes place entirely on UTM's campus.

Oakville - July 12, 2009
Oakville’s beautiful Appleby College hosts the second Tri Kids event of the season.

Bracebridge - August 08, 2009
The charming Town of Bracebridge, branded the "Heart of Muskoka", plays host to a wonderful triathlon event for kids.

Milton - September 26, 2009
The final Tri Kids race of the season will be held at the Milton Leisure Centre. The event, which has been resurrected due to popular demand after a year off, is expected to attract over 300 particpants.
