Dinosaur Eggs & Babies: Groundbreaking Discoveries from South Africa
For eight weeks only, the ROM presents Dinosaur Eggs & Babies: Groundbreaking Discoveries from South Africa as part of the ongoing Out of the Vaults series that offers visitors an opportunity to see exceptional and rarely-seen artifacts. Dinosaur Eggs & Babies displays the oldest dinosaur nests with fossilized embryos ever found. Approximately 190 million years old, many of the rare specimens were discovered in the last five years with the help of ROM palaeontologists and have provided researchers with a new understanding of dinosaur reproductive behaviour at the dawn of the age of dinosaurs. The exhibition also displays a number of other specimens, including skeletons of dinosaur embryos and hatchlings as well as a series of skulls to illuminate the landmark discovery and its impacts on our knowledge of these ancient creatures.
