Bloor-Yorkville Holiday Magic

Animated store front windows, enchanting light displays and charming decorations are yours to discover throughout the neighbourhood. Look for energy-efficient LED lighting displays including, a spectacular thirty-two foot Christmas tree twinkling white sparkling lights and trees decked in red and white in the Village of Yorkville Park. Light poles glowing with hanging baskets filled with winter greens, twinkling lit twigs and beautiful light enhanced wreaths line the neighbourhood’s quaint streets. Official lighting ceremony: Saturday November 22nd. 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm - Village Of Yorkville Park (Cumberland & Bellair). Our guest to flick the switch: Hosts of CBC-TV’s “STEVEN & CHRIS”.

Burlington Festival of Lights

Enjoy a wonderful display of holiday lights while walking along the lakeside promenade at Spencer Smith Park. This is Burlington's unofficial "welcome to winter" event! This year's Festival is in its tenth consecutive year at the park and we continue to reach out to our business community to make our Opening Ceremonies a success.The Ceremonies take place after the Christmas Parade downtown. On Sunday December 7th, 2008 at approximately 5:00 p.m. the event will begin at Spencer Smith Park. Patrons can expect the traditional procession of the Burlington Teen Tour Band, lighting of the CHML Tree of Hope, greetings from our Mayor, Honourary Co-Chair, and a visit by Santa. The dazzling collection includes over sixty animated and illuminated displays. Favorites include the majestic Eiffel Tower, traditional Nativity scene, an animated train and other themed displays.
