The Toronto Zoo is Canada's premier Zoo, known for its interactive education and conservation activities. As a unique wildlife experience, we inspire people to live in ways that promote the well being of the natural world.

The Zoo has over 5,000 animals representing over 460 species. There are over 10 km (6 miles) of walking trails and with over 287 hectares (710 acres), it's one of tne largest zoos in the world.

Zellers Discovery Zone
Explore Zellers Discovery Zone, featuring the Kids Zoo, a dynamic, interactive children's wildlife experience, Splash Island, an exciting 2 acre water play area - don't forget to check out our NEW Tipping Buckets - and the 750 seat Waterside Theatre, home of exciting family entertainment.

Exhibits and Layout
The Zoo is divided into six zoogeographic regions: Indo-Malaya, Africa, the Americas, Australasia, Eurasia and the Canadian Domain. Animals are displayed indoors in tropical pavilions and outdoors in naturalistic environments, with viewing at many levels.

Summer Day Camps and March Break Camps
The Toronto Zoo offers a great line up of fun-filled programs throughout the year designed to quench your thirst for animal knowledge and enhance your appreciation of wildlife and the Zoo. Whether you choose to spend a week at one of our summer day camps, sleep under the stars at our Serengeti Bush Camp or join us for one of our exciting daytime or evening programs, … learning just comes naturally at the Zoo! From tots to teens, families to adults, Girl Guides to Scouts, there's something to help everyone connect with nature.

Guest Services

Strollers, wagons and lockers are available to rent at the Main Entrance. Wheelchairs are available at no cost. ATM bank machines are located outside the Main Entrance and in the Africa Restaurant.

Gift Shops
There are 7 gift shops and kiosks located throughout the Zoo site.
