Peel Summer Academy is a unique residential program for intellectually gifted students - Grades 4 to 10. It is offered by the Centre for Education & Training, Peel District School Board.
The program provides intellectual stimulation, a variety of recreational and social activities, and an opportunity to live away from home, in a well-supervised context, with a wonderful group of peers who share the same intellectual gifts.
To be eligible for Peel Summer Academy students must currently be in grades 4 to 10 and be formally identified as Intellectually Gifted. Students participate in the program for the grade they attended in the previous school year. Parents of a child who has not been formally identified may submit, for consideration, a letter of reference from the school principal with a copy of the most recent report card.
Each day, students attend four exploratory courses chosen from a list of challenging and fun topics related to: technology, personal development, sciences, games, hobbies, psychology, philosophy, arts, fitness, and sports. Visit our website to view courses offered.
The program is offered at University of Toronto at Mississauga for Grades 4 through 8. This two-week program offers students an opportunity to live in-residence on the university campus. Our partnership with the University of Toronto was established 23 years ago and thousands of gifted young people have cherished their special time there each year.
