Sign Language Programs for Hearing Families!Our Programs:Learn-to-Sign Workshops (6 - 30 months)Learning to sign with your baby is simple, fun and rewarding. Our traditional workshop consists of two sessions and our new workshop format consists of 3, 1-hour sessions (only available in select cities). In all workshops, parents and caregivers will learn at least 50 signs and, most importantly, the best way to teach those signs to their child (ren). Signing is most effective when the whole family learns to sign with the child too.
Sign Time Classes (6 months and up)
These sign, sing and play classes are fun, interactive classes that help parents stay connected to signing. Come out to meet other signing parents and to learn new songs, signs and games. These classes are perfect for Little Hands Talking™ Alumni and are appropriate for any new parents wanting to experience a unique Signing Opportunity with their baby. Classes are offered monthly on a variety of days and at a variety of times. Sign Time is a register and pay-as-you-go class. Space is limited and due to the popularity of Sign Time, pre-registration is required.
Learn-to-Sign Classes (2 1/2+ years)
Does your child have an interest in learning sign language? These classes are designed with preschoolers and children in mind! Let us teach your hearing child how to use sign language. American Sign Language is the fourth most widely used language in North America. The curriculum will include an introduction to Deaf culture, common phrases in sign language, and signs for colours, shapes, food, animals and more. The goal of this program is to provide children and their families with easy, fun and useful signs that will allow them to communicate basic concepts and phrases in American Sign Language. The first half of each class will be the instruction component and the second half will include a craft or activity to help reinforce the days' lesson.
