OUR DIFFERENCE In choosing Robin Hood for your child's summer experience, we are confident that you will discover a camp that is dedicated to making all aspects of your family's experience positive. We work throughout the year to communicate effectively with our families, to develop the most efficient bus routes for our campers, to hire the best staff possible and to plan programs that will make your child's summer the most memorable ever.
OUR CAMP PROGRAMS
CAMP ROBIN HOOD The Camp Robin Hood program allows campers to experience a wide variety of activities during their stay at camp. Under the supervision of 2 well-trained counsellors, campers will participate in both cabin and specialty activities. During specialty activities, campers will be instructed by expert staff who have planned unique programs that enhance the camp experience. In addition to our daily program which includes twice daily swim instruction, campers may also participate in some of our optional programs such as "Extended Days" (SK & Gr. 1), overnights (Gr. 2-7) or 3 day trips (Gr. 4-7) to Camp Walden, our overnight camp.
ROBIN HOOD SPORTS ACADEMY All Robin Hood Sports Academy programs are aimed at skill development in an enjoyable way. Campers must choose one instructional sport for a 2 week session under the watchful eye of qualified coaches. Not only will we emphasize skill development, but we will also make certain our outcomes reflect cooperation, tolerance and an ability to be a successful team player. Our program is designed to have a coach to athlete ratio of 1 to 8 working with boys and girls of approximately the same age and ability. Sports offered: Basketball, Baseball, Golf, Soccer, Tennis and Personal Challenge Sports (Mountain Biking, High Ropes and In-line Hockey).
CIT PROGRAM Our experience indicates that a truly effective Leadership Training Program strives to develop knowledge and skills through the presentation of theory and the involvement of hands-on learning. Participation in regularly scheduled placements in a variety of areas at camp plays an important role as well. We believe that our LITs (14 year olds) and our CITs (15 year olds) need to understand age characteristics, age appropriate activities, behaviour management techniques and motivational approaches to be successful. A mandatory 3 day retreat early in the summer, allow us to reach our program objectives.
HOME & AWAY Home & Away is a combined day and overnight camp experience. Campers in this program begin at Camp Robin Hood and then travel with their counsellors and cabin-mates to Camp Walden. This program is suited for campers being introduced to overnight camping for the first time; those who have commitments in the city; those who appreciate the security of travelling with a group and those who find making adjustments difficult. The program is designed for boys & girls who are currently in grades 2 and older.
CAMPER-IN TRAINING This program, for children ages 18 months to 3 years of age, is a parent (grand-parent, caregiver etc) and child style program so that both the adult and camper can enjoy the Robin Hood experience together. We feel that this type of introduction to camping will be a beneficial transition towards our full day program and will offer campers the opportunity to participate in a comfortable atmosphere in which positive play and meaningful socialization can take place.
OUR STAFF The experience gained by our campers is made possible by the quality of our staff. Many of our counsellors have grown up as campers at Robin Hood and have continued on as camp leaders. We are very proud that 60-70% of our staff return each year. All of our staff are well trained and develop the skills necessary to be wonderful role models for your child.
SCHOOL PROGRAMS We also offer school programs in the Spring and Fall as well as make our site available for rent on the weekends. TO GET MORE INFORMATION INCLUDING OUR FEES PLEASE VISIT US AT WWW.CAMPROBINHOOD.CA OR CALL 416-736-4443 |
