The Clay Room is an interactive ceramics store where customers of all ages use the ground-level space as their studio. This concept gives the customer complete creative control in making a gift or accessorizing the home. The Do-It-Yourself studio is not only a retail store but also a unique creative learning centre that has been operating since November 1995.

DROP-INS

If you've ever wanted to create a unique personalized ceramic piece but didn't want to attend a long, structured pottery class, then THE CLAY ROOM is for you.

We have a variety of over 300 white ceramic pieces and 60 paint colours to choose from. All our paints are non-toxic and dinnerware safe. Simply drop in, choose a piece of ware off the shelf and paint it. The item is then clear-glazed and fired in our kiln. Your finished piece is ready for pick-up in one week.

CLAY CLASSES FOR KIDS

Just imagine what sort of interesting things you can make with clay! Come have some clay fun at The Clay Room after-school & weekend classes for kids! The classes are designed for ages 7 – 12. Learn how to make sculptures, creatures and usable objects with different techniques and choose from a variety of funky colours.

Sessions are informal, with time for experimentation as well as a focus on technique. Come join The Clay Room and let your creativity takeover!

SEASONAL CAMPS

For the past several years we have offered half day camps of crafts, clay & creativity during both the March Break and in the Summer. Kids' Arts & Crafts Camps are for children 7 to 11 years of age. The children explore with a variety of mediums creating their own masterpieces. Let your child's imagination be sparked with us this March Break & Summer at The Clay Room. KIDS' BIRTHDAY PARTIES

You chose: Paintable Ceramics or Clay

Take advantage of our private party room that can comfortably accommodate up to twenty-five children. The party room is brightly painted making it fun for all ages.

The painted pieces are fired in our on-site kilns and individually gift wrapped. You will receive a phone call in approximately 1.5 weeks once they are ready for pick up. There is a minimum of 12 children required for private parties. We require a deposit to make a firm reservation with a minimum 10 day cancellation notice.

Paintable Ceramics Parties

We offer several different paint-it-yourself ceramic party packages. Recommended age - 5+ years.

Private parties are booked for two hours. In the the first hour the children are given instructions catered to their age group. While the children are painting our staff is available for assistance at all times. The second hour is for the party - open presents, order in pizza, bring games, whatever suits your needs.

New Clay Parties for Kids

Now you can build your own piece out of clay and paint it!

Clay parties are for children 7 years and older. They are booked for two and a half hours. We will demonstrate coil, slab & pinch pottery techniques as well as free form building (i.e. figurines) & the use of press forms as molds.

During the first hour and a half, the children make and paint their masterpiece. The second hour is for the party - open presents, order in pizza, bring games, whatever suits your needs.
