2008 is the year of the Rat! In celebration of the Chinese lunar calendar and the 1st sign of the Chinese zodiac: the RAT, many Attractions and Venues have organized Family Friendly events. Check out what's happening so far in the GTA.
Saturday Shenanigans In celebration of the Chinese lunar calendar and the 12 signs of the Chinese zodiac, January is dedicated to the animal kingdom. Come with your family and make an animal lantern or decorate a red envelope, which is thought to symbolize good luck. With exciting exhibitions, the whole family can enjoy the day with us. Perfect for children age 3 to 9. Situated on our lower level, and drawn from the private collection of Mr. Glenn Roberts, the exhibition will feature approximately 20 artifacts that incorporate colourful and unusual Rat motifs. In addition, special events are currently being planned to commemorate this occasion. Chinese New Year Spectacular From the legendary tales in the Chinese history to the heavenly fairy beauties, from the soothing classic melody to the traditional dragon dances, the Chinese New Year Spectacular is a work of beauty and inspiration, celebrating the wondor of ancient Chinese culture through a combination of world-class music and dance performances. It is sure to dazzle the eyes, ears and heart, and to leave you with the memory of a lifetime. Rats get in Free during February For the entire Month of February, Rats get in FREE to the BATA SHOE MUSEUM! Were you born in 1912 1924 1936 1948 1960 1972 1984 or 1996? Then enjoy free admission to the Bata Shoe Museum during the month of February in celebration of the Chinese Lunar calendar's Year of the Rat. Zoo Residents Get Naked For Year Of The Rat 2008 It's the Year of the Rat and the Toronto Zoo has some of the most unusual and interesting rats of all.
