MILTON - Did you know that Bats could save the rainforest? That crops such as bananas, avocados, vanilla and peaches rely on bats for pollination? Bats are beautiful – and beneficial to humans – don’t miss your chance to spend an evening with the bats this summer! Join the staff of the Mountsberg Conservation Area for our annual Bat Night on Saturday August 16, from 7 to 9pm.
Watch as bats drop from their daytime roost to begin their nightly hunting for insects. Get up close and personal with a live bat! This great family event also includes activities such as a puppet play, storytelling, and games. Guest speaker Dara Ohrbach from the University of Western Ontario will help us learn more about these fascinating but misunderstood mammals, and to dispel some of the myths surrounding these little creatures.
