Parents should limit children's cell phone use

By Toronto4Kids

On July 14, Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty advised parents to limit their children's use of cell phones. He supports the Toronto Public Health advisory, telling parents to take precautions to minimize their children's exposure to radio frequency waves from cell phones. It says research on the long-term effects of radio frequency waves on children is limited, and warns that scientists don't know what the health effects may be.

Toronto public health officials say children under eight should use land lines whenever they can and should use a cell phone only for essential purposes.

They also advised that older children and teens should limit their cell phone use whenever possible.
