The Ultimate Gift of Love

Self-confidence, trust, and security. What do these 3 words mean to you? They're 'feel good' words, right? You read them and can breathe out confidently. They are empowering words that evoke feelings of love. When you feel this sense of calm about you, you bring about a calm persona. And like a spiral, people that come into your life will benefit from knowing you and your tranquil state.

Speaking of people coming into your life...for an expecting mother, this is a very strong message. Baby inside the belly will benefit immensely by having a calm mommy. How you spend your day is important to your baby. A calm, peaceful environment is optimal for healthy development.

Reading something inspirational out loud is the most effective way that parents can communicate their love. Your voice is the most important sound for your listening baby to hear. And when you read them an inspiring message, the positive words create this calm and peaceful environment where your baby is flourishing! Much more than reading, you are helping to create a healthy baby. Knowing that you can send this message and give this kind of love is an invaluable gift.

Remember learning about Maslow's hierarchy of needs? He created a list of five basic needs, each need having to be met or satisfied before moving to the next need/level. He discussed biological needs and the need to feel safe...the need for love, affection and belongingness...and the need for esteem. When these levels are met and the needs are satisfied, the result is a self-confident and valuable person. The final level then, what Maslow calls the 'self-actualizing person', is the highest level a person can achieve. This healthy personality is where a person reaches their full potential.

So why wait until your baby is born before taking Maslow's hierarchy of needs into consideration? Translate the message now. It's the ultimate gift of love.
