Drumming A Difference

On May 24, 2009, Mystic Drumz presents a one-of-a-kind interactive musical production will take the stage north of Toronto.

Mystic Drumz is set to present its all-new live children’s musical safari, “The Button People” This is the second show of six is the Mystic Drumz Family Fun Music series. The Cosmo Music Warehouse in the Cosmopolitan Music Hall 10 Via Renzo Dr. in Richmond Hill, will host one daytime showing of this much-anticipated show on Sunday, May 24th at 4:15pm.

A portion of the proceeds will go to the Mystic Drumz “Drumming a Difference Around the World” program that provides percussion instruments and music training to children in orphanages of developing countries. “Our mission is to provide world beat percussion instruments and musical training to children in orphanages of developing countries. Our hope is to enrich their lives and make a difference" says Lorne Lampert, Founder and C.D.O. (Chief Drumming Officer), Mystic Drumz.

This adventure in world music appeals to the entire family and features a cast of colourful characters who take the audience on a journey of discovery as they search for “The Button People”. Mystic Drumz is also promoting something new called “Music Eco-cation”, this teaches children about the importance of the preservation of animals and the environment they live in through music.

The show incorporates a variety of multicultural music themes and showcases musical instruments from around the globe. By employing state-of-the-art screen projections and larger than life sounds effects, the show engages spectators and encourages them to become active participants in the search for the Button People. Laughter and learning come together as the audience embarks upon a musical voyage that introduces them to a cross-section of rhythms and sounds. From the Djembe Drumz of Africa to the giant Taiko Drumz of Japan, and everywhere in between we explore over 30 unique instruments.“The Button People is an interactive show that aims to make musical education fun and exciting for the entire family. The show transports the audience to a magical world, introduces them to new sounds and images and allows them to experience the joys of music from various cultures.”
