Birthday Party Themes: Host a Pirate Party
By Toronto4Kids
Ahoy! Gather all your mates and host the best Pirate Party! Your little buccaneers will treasure memories of this high sea adventure!
Pickup or make your own Pirate Party Invitations: Treasure Maps, Treasure Chest, Scull or Crossbones flags.
Pirate flags are a must! Reuse your skeletons from Halloween decorations and cut out a giant ship steering wheel from cardboard to set the swashbucklin' mood. The best pirate birthday party decoration colors are red and black.
When your young guests arrive provide them with all the pirate gear such as eye patches, pirate hats, bandannas, swords, etc. Take out the face paint to draw fake mustaches or scruffy beards, and battle scars on their faces. Give them removable pirate-theme tattoos as well.
Simple activities can include coloring Pirate themed colouring pages for younger children. Organize a treasure hunt and send everyone on a quest to find items you've hidden around the house or the backyard! Outside, give the kids a treasure map to follow to a spot where you have buried a treasure. Have a cannonball fight, using black and red water balloons. Or have the kids watch a pirate action flick such as Pirates of the Caribbean to calm them down at the end of the day.
Let the kids eat like bandits … with their hands. Turkey legs or chicken drumsticks are a must! Order or bake a pirate themed cake. Serve gold chocolate coins for dessert.
Great party favours include: chocolate gold coins, eye patches, swords, flags, fake jewellery, and so on. To top your party, find a Pirate Ship Pinata.
Make it a girl party too. Girls make great pirates! Why should boys have all the fun?
