Apple Picking in the GTA

There's a chill in the air and the kids are headed back to school. You know what that means... It’s apple picking time! No matter where you live in the GTA, there's bound to be a pick-your-own farm nearby. While some of the fun activities like hayrides and farm animals may be limited this year, picking fruit in itself is a great family activity. So grab a few baskets and head out to one of these great farms.

Albion Orchards

Albions Orchards located in Caledon is close to the city and apple picking starts end of August. They grow many different apple varieties native to Ontario. More

Applewood Farm Winery
12416 McCowan Rd, Stouffville, ON
Applewood Farm located in Stouffville has a large variety of apples ready for picking in early September. More

Brooks Farms
122 Ashworth Road, Mount Albert, ON
Brooks Farms in Mount Albert has apple picking starting early September. The highlight of a visit to this farm is the Fall Fun Festival which runs on weekends starting in September and ending early November, including Thanksgiving Monday. The Festival is going ahead this year. More

Carl Laidlaw Orchards
9496 Heritage Road, Brampton, ON
Carl Laidlaw Orchards located in Brampton opens in early September for apple picking. They offer over 20 varieties of apples. More

9528 Regional Road 25, Halton Hills, ON
Chudleigh's grows over 22 varieties of apples that are available for picking. There are over 47,500 trees across 60 acres in the orchard. Peak picking season is in September and October, and early apples are ready mid to late August. Tickets for picking must be purchased in advance. More

Country Apple Orchard Farm
3105 16th Sideroad, King City, ON
Country Apple Orchard Farm in King City opens in late August. With approximately 5000 trees, they have been producing apples for over 27 years. More

Dixie Orchards
14309 Dixie Road, Caledon, ON​

Dixie Orchard is a family-owned and operated apple farm located in beautiful southern Caledon. You can pick apples starting August 29 until the end of October. Reservations are required. Wagon rides will continue to take guests to the apple orchard and back, or it's a short walk.  Masks are required on wagon rides. More

Downey’s Strawberry & Apple Farm

Downey’s Strawberry & Apple Farm is proudly family owned and operated, specializing in pick-your-own apples, strawberries and raspberries. Apple picking opens August 28, 2020 and is open daily at the Caledon location from 9-5:30. Face coverings are mandatory to enter. ​More

Organics Family Farm

Organics Family Farm located in Markham is currently open for pick your own and ready picked apples. Apple Season Begins Friday, September 4th. Ginger Gold apples are being picked this season. More
