Ontario Science Centre Summer Day Camp

Want your child to do something unique and absolutely cool this Summer? How about adding a huge serving of science-filled fun?

A Summer of education and thrilling adventures awaits your child at the Ontario Science Centre. Young science enthusiasts can look forward to an unforgettable, fun camp experience with knowledgeable and energetic counsellors.

This Summer day camp is designed for children 5 to 12 years old. Campers are invited to discover and explore the Science Centre through hands-on science, an IMAX® Film, exclusive access to the exhibit halls, as well as outdoor activities.  

Science camp can introduce kids to many different areas of science and give them the confidence and inspiration to embrace science at school. In 2013, the Ontario Science Centre offers more sensational science than ever before!

2013 Camp Programs Include:

Space Craze – Calling all astronauts! Embark on a week-long trip through space! Learn the secrets of aerospace engineers and astronauts as you discover innovative technologies to evade the hazards of space. Design a space suit to protect yourself and avoid black holes travelling through our solar system. You and your crew will encounter the many wonders of the Universe as you participate in the Mission to Mars Show and the Space Craze Challenge. Prepare to lift-off for a gravity-defying, out-of-this-world voyage!

Camp Dates: July 1-5, July 15-19 (sold out), July 29-August 2, August 12-16, August 26-30, 2013 (includes statutory holidays)

Spying on Science – During this week, kids will have 5 science missions to explore. Mission #1 is all about Machine Mechanics Mysteries and making the connection between electricity, magnets, and motors. Mission #2 - Biology Battles Brain-Buster: Make room for mucus and other gross bodily fluids to decipher good from bad germs and solve the S.U.D.S. Factory mystery. Mission #3 - Cooking with Chemistry Conundrum where kids can cook up some CO2 sandwiches and plastic milk to discover the missing ingredient in the crazy chemist’s buffet. Mission #4 - Physics Fun Facts will ramp campers up for Newton’s 3 laws of motion. And Mission #5 - Energy Experts Enigma will earn kids “Power Patrol Puzzle” points as they launch their catapult and take first steps toward reducing their ecological footprint.

Camp Dates: July 8-12 (sold out), July 22-26, August 5-9, August 19-23 ((includes statutory holidays)

Summer Day Camp runs from 9:00AM to 4:00PM, Monday to Friday. For additional fees, a Hot Lunch Plan is available and the Ontario Science Centre offers supervised extended care from 7:30AM to 8:45AM and from 4:15PM to 6:00PM, with games, educational videos, and quiet activities.

Parents are encouraged to sign-up kids early as camp spots fill up quickly. There is an Early Bird Special if you register before April 30.
