The Canadian Opera Company’s Summer Opera Camps focus on the development of the child’s capacity for creative expression and critical thought, and inspire imagination through active play and participation. Under the guidance and mentorship of a composer, director, and movement coach, and stage designer, participants nurture and expand their individual performing arts and visual arts skills, while working on developing an opera production with their peers during a fun yet intensive one-week camp. Weekly activities include singing, composition, acting, costume, props, and set design, and are tailored to the needs of a specific age group. Each week ends in a celebratory performance for family and friends. For children from grades 1 to 10.

Summer Camps are offered at three locations in the Toronto area. Full-day or half-day sessions provide a stimulating social and creative curriculum for Summer students. 3 programs are offered: Junior Summer Camp Program (Ages 3-5): visual arts, storytelling, puppetry, pantomime, improvisation, creative movement, and tableaux. Intermediate Summer Camp Program (Ages 6-9): improvisation, visual arts, role-playing, mask, mime, dance, voice, comedy, physical theatre, prop, and set construction. Advanced Summer Camp Program (Ages 10-13): visual arts and advanced theatre skills, including improvisation, voice, dance, comedy, scriptwriting, and performance. Sessions available from June 29 - Aug. 7, 2015.

Great Big Theatre Company has offered drama education programs for young people since 1994. GBTC offers weekly day camp programs throughout July and August. The program includes plays, mime, improvisation, theatre games, musical theatre, work with simple sets and costumes, and an end-of-week public performance. Also included are outdoor activities, swimming (at selected locations), games, and sports. In addition, there is an intensive one-week Senior level program during the Summer, for ages 14 to 17. Half-day drama camps are also available for campers age 3 to 5.
