Artemis Fowl Premieres on Disney+ on June 12

Artemis Fowl, another kids' blockbuster originally set to hit theatres, will now stream exclusively on Disney+, starting on Friday, June 12.

Based on the best-selling young adult book by Eoin Colfer and directed by Kenneth Branagh, Artemis Fowl is a fantastical epic adventure, beaming with beautiful landscapes and spectacular visual effects that will transport viewers to magical new worlds. The film stars newcomer Ferdia Shaw in the title role and features Lara McDonnell, Josh Gad, Tamara Smart, Nonso Anozie, Josh McGuire, Nikesh Patel and Adrian Scarborough, with Colin Farrell and Judi Dench.

Artemis Fowl is a 12-year-old genius and descendant of a long line of criminal masterminds. He soon finds himself in an epic battle against a race of powerful underground fairies who may be behind his father's disappearance. In order to pay his ransom, Artemis must infiltrate an ancient, underground civilization—the amazingly advanced world of fairies—and bring the kidnapper the Aculos, the fairies’ most powerful and coveted magical device. To locate the elusive object, cunning Artemis concocts a dangerous plan—so dangerous that he ultimately finds himself in a perilous war of wits with the all-powerful fairies.
