Blue Mountain Resort

No matter the age of your children, the key to keeping them from getting bored, or worse into trouble, is to keep them busy with activities that they enjoy. It's an even bigger bonus when parents enjoy the activity too!

Below we've made a well-rounded list of Summer and Fall activities for your family. Some you've done a thousand times and some you will need to try!

These activities are perfectly reasonable when planning a day trip within 2-3 hours of Toronto.

Local food is not only for when you're at home. Why not taste the area you are visiting! Farmers markets are alot of family fun in the great outdoors! If you're staying at a hotel or cottage you can visit a restaurant that serves local food, visit a produce and fruit stand or even take a tour of local farms, like the Huronia Food Trail. These types of activities are good for day trips too, it's always an adventure to head out on the road and eat along the way, this way it's healthier food and you're supporting hard working farmers and artisans. Featured Market: Midland Farmers' and Artisans' Market.

No matter the manner you take to the water, your family will love the activities that come with Ontario's best lakes, bays, and rivers. Rent canoes, kayaks, or SUP paddle boards and enjoy the rewards that come with a good paddle or step on board a cruiser, sit back and enjoy the views. Midland Tours operates the Miss Midland in Midland (Georgian Bay Cruise) and the Serendipity Princess in Barrie (Kempenfelt Bay). In the Fall the Serendipity Princess goes to Port Severn for a change to colourful scenery tour.
