We interrupt our regularly scheduled Winter-related posts to bring you these incredible Frankenweenie creations!
For those who aren’t familiar with the movie, Frankenweenie (from creative genius Tim Burton) is a heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life.
To celebrate the long-anticipated release of Frankenweenie on DVD, I present to you treats inspired by the stop-motion 3D animated film!
Heather Bird from Sprinkle Bakes created something truly amazing here. The new puppet incarnation of Sparky captured her heart with his expressive face and little nubbin-nose; so much so, she created her own Sparky! She explains on her website how to sculpt the decorations with plenty of step-by-step photos to guide you.
Her cake is absolutely beautiful and the attention to detail is simply stunning! The grey scale, with a pop of Frankenweenie green, really adds to the drama of the cake.
Or, if you're like me and you lack the patience (or the talent...) to make your own decorations, SweetCakeTopper on Etsy offers wonderfully handcrafted Frankenweenie cake toppers for sale. There's Victor, Edgar “E” Gore, and of course Sparky! So cute!
Bakerella, the inventor of cake pops, shares also her creation and shows you how Sparky comes to life using black sugar pearls, silver jimmies, and lots of creativity! You don’t need a laboratory to create your own tasty version of Victor’s loyal pal. These cake pops are almost too cute to eat! Well, almost... (Poor Sparky!) Click here for the full instructions.
Frankenweenie is available on DVD January 8th.
