Cheltenham Badlands Have Reopened!
The Cheltenham Badlands have reopened! As of September 8, one the most recognizable and visited natural heritage landmarks in Southern Ontario is once again open to the public.
Often referred to as Mars on Earth, The Cheltenham Badlands is a great outdoor nature adventure for families. The unique landscape feature has an incredible rare look, that will have kids feeling like they've stepped right onto another planet. It's one of Ontario’s geological treasures, first formed at the base of an ancient area over 400 million years ago. Visitors are also able to enjoy an accessible boardwalk, upgraded trails, educational and interpretive panels, and public and accessible parking spaces.
Entry to Cheltenham Badlands is now by reservation only. You can use a new online reservation system to book your date and time to visit during regular hours of operation. This limits the number of people who can enter the property at one time and creates the conditions needed for physical distancing.
“This park is a popular destination that consistently sees high visitation, which can be a challenge to manage. For this reason, we have put a new system in place at the park to keep everyone safe,” said Terri LeRoux, Senior Manager, PARCS for CVC.
Reservations can be made up to two-weeks in advance. Space at Cheltenham Badlands is limited and the park will not accommodate visitors without a reservation. Anyone that shows up at the park without a reservation will be turned away, and there are no exceptions to this rule. Tickets are only valid for the date and time purchased. Reservation time slots are available between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.
