Young People’s Theatre Drama School is Growing!

Hugely popular Drama School Opens 4th Location in East Toronto and expands programming at home...

Young People’s Theatre (YPT) is pleased to announce that its Drama School, part of the newly-formed Ada Slaight Education Centre at YPT, is expanding to serve the needs of families in East Toronto.

Drama Classes are now available on Saturdays for youth in JK to grade 4 at a new East Toronto location: historic O’Connor House at Lawrence Avenue East and Victoria Park Avenue.

The Drama School is also growing at the Downtown Toronto location. New Weekday Classes are now available at the theatre after school. Classes for grades 5-6 are on Tuesday, and Grades 1-2 and 3-4 are on Thursday.

Visit www.youngpeoplestheatre.ca for information on registration, available online, by fax, by mail or in person. Drama Students also receive one free ticket to a Mainstage show at YPT with each registration (restrictions apply).

The creation of The Ada Slaight Education Centre at YPT is a milestone in the evolution of educational programming for Young People’s Theatre. Made possible by a donation from The Slaight Family Foundation, this centre makes it possible for YPT to expand, deepen and enrich already extensive educational initiatives.

Over the past five decades, YPT has contributed to the emotional, social and intellectual development of over five million young people – sparking their imagination and perhaps a life-long passion for theatre. Young People’s Theatre has just embarked on its 50th Anniversary Season with a wonder-filled playbill that includes Jacob Two-Two Meets the Hooded Fang, Goodnight Moon and The Wizard of Oz. Tickets from just $10 each are available at www.youngpeoplestheatre.ca or 416-862-2222.

YPT’s Year-round Drama School:
• 4 Locations: North York, Etobicoke, Downtown Toronto and now East Toronto
• New East Toronto location: O’Connor House, 50 Rowena Drive (Lawrence Ave. E. & Victoria Park Ave.) for youth in JK to grade 4
• New Weekday Classes: YPT, 165 Front Street East (East of Jarvis St.) for youth in grades 1-12
• 9-week sessions from $195

Register online, by fax, by mail or in person. Visit www.youngpeoplestheatre.ca to register online and for details including downloadable registration forms. For additional inquiries, call 416-363-5131 x 235.
