Cineplex Events invites Canadians to get into the holiday spirit by announcing holiday-themed family programming as well as special music and stage performances this festive season.

André Rieu: Christmas with André - December 1, 2016
You won’t want to miss this festive celebration featuring a never before seen 90-minute Christmas concert showcasing the best holiday tunes including Hallelujah, Jingle Bells, White Christmas & many more performed by André and the famous Johann Strauss Orchestra along with his sopranos and tenors. As an exclusive for cinema audiences, André will be inviting his fans to his hometown for an intimate tour of Maastricht's magical Christmas highlights. ‘The King of Waltz’ will also answer his questions from fans in an interview with CinemaLive host Charlotte Hawkins.  

How The Grinch Stole Christmas - December 3, 2016
Based on the classic story by Dr. Seuss, How The Grinch Stole Christmas is one holiday favourite that even the biggest Scrooge can’t resist. The Grinch, played by Jim Carrey, lives just outside the magical town of Whoville, where all the residents or “Whos”, are hanging their stockings and spreading Christmas cheer. The Grinch, who hates Christmas, devises a plan to ruin it by stealing the holiday entirely from the Whos. Watch this heartwarming tale unfold as a small Who, Cindy Lou Who, decides to befriend the Grinch.

On his journey he learns about friendship, bravery, and the true spirit of Christmas.

The Nutcracker - December 11 & 21, 2016
This classic tale tells the story of Marie, a young girl whose wooden nutcracker doll mysteriously transforms into a beautiful prince on Christmas Eve. They embark on a magical journey through an enchanting dreamscape of fantastic creatures, places and events before finally arriving at the palace of the beautiful Sugar Plum Fairy. Danced by the Bolshoi’s principals, Russian ballet master Yuri Grigorovich’s staging of E. T. A. Hoffmann’s fairy tale will transport children and adults alike to a world of magic and wonder for the holiday season.

It’s A Wonderful Life - December 19, 22 & 24, 2016
Classic Film Series. It’s a Wonderful Life is the perennial holiday favorite and one of the most beloved movies of all time. After George Bailey (James Stewart) wishes he had never been born, an angel (Henry Travers) is sent to earth to make George's wish come true. George starts to realize how many lives he has changed and impacted, and how they would be different if he was never there.
