Description:

Gibson House Museum offers day camps, workshops and drop-ins for young people during the Festive Season, March Break, P.A. Days and the Summer. These activities provide enriching entertainment while allowing children to creatively explore Toronto's history.

Gibson House Summer Day Camps

Campers’ imaginations and creative energies lead the way on a journey to discover life in Willow Dale in 1851. Join us for fun-filled days of hands-on activities designed and led by our team of year-round educators.

Camps are Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
All camps are $160 per week. Extended care is available.
Extended care Fees:
Mornings from 8 to 9 a.m.: $20 per week
Afternoons from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.: $20 per week
Both mornings and afternoons: $35 per week

A Week at Aunt Eliza's
July 8 to 12
If you were a member of the Gibson family, who would you be? Through storytelling, crafts, role-playing and discovery, campers learn about the daily life of children circa 1850. Cooking treats in the kitchen each day completes the experience. Campers need to have celebrated their 6th Birthday to attend.

Ages 8 to10
Discover the Past, Look to the Future!
July 15 to 19
Campers become history detectives to learn about the Gibson family and their community by examining artifacts, documents and historic recipes. Through art, cooking, storytelling and drama, campers will imagine an alternate future for Willowdale.

Ages 9 to 12
Made By You
July 22 to 26
Inspired by the Gibsons - created by you! Explore 19th-century craftsmanship and design. Campers discover their talents with weaving, stitching, painting, drama and more. Creative hands also cook in the historic kitchen each day.

Ages 12 to 14
Gibson House Scholars
August 12 to 16
A youth camp with a historical twist! You'll learn the art of cooking in an historic kitchen, try advanced Victorian crafts and some behind-the-scenes museum work. Have fun as you discover how the Gibsons helped to shape Upper Canada and their community of Willow Dale.

Ages 7 to 9
The Farmer, the Baker and the Toymaker
August 19 to 23
Become a 19th-century tradesperson for a week! Make toys and play games inspired by Victorian childhood favourites. Campers enjoy an intensive baking experience in the historic kitchen and learn about farm life in the 1850s.
