Stand UP for Student Well Being is a Canadian not-for-profit, charitable organization. The one-of-a-kind, stand up comedy programs are led by trained, professional comedian coaches who work as visiting artists to promote well-being and support youth with strategies for coping with stress and anxiety. Youth enhance their public speaking and creative, writing-for-performance skills by shaping their own stories with a sense of healthy humour.

What could be more fun? We are excited to bring this program to a camp setting after 6 years in classrooms. There will be four 5-day camps in Toronto in July 2020, featuring 2 trained comedians as coaches for the campers to develop their comedic arts and literacy skills, creating their own stories - with healthy humour.
Boys & girls practice improv comedy, focusing on stand up comedy skills and joke jams to build confidence and creativity in public speaking. Youth learn age appropriate social and emotional skills, have fun, relax, and reduce the stress and anxiety. The week culminates with a Comedy Showcase for parents and guardians to attend.
Stand UP for Student Well-Being is a one of a kind, GTA-based stand-up comedy program that brings trained comedian coaches as visiting artists to schools and camp settings. In its literacy and art-based format, youth develop skills in comedy writing and performing, confidence in public speaking and age-appropriate well-being strategies to reduce stress.
