The Toronto Zoo is Canada's largest Zoo, home to more than 5,000 animals, representing 450 species. The Toronto Zoo is committed to fighting extinction and connecting people to wildlife. There are over 10 km (six miles) of walking trails. At 287 hectares (710 acres), the Toronto Zoo is one of the largest Zoos in the world!
It is set in the beautiful Rouge Valley. The Main Entrance is located on Meadowvale Road, Toronto, north of Highway 401 (Exit #389 eastbound and westbound). The Zoo is accessible by car and public transit.
Habitats and Layout:
The Zoo is divided into seven zoogeographic regions: Indo-Malaya, Africa, the Americas, Australasia, Eurasia, Canadian Domain and the Tundra Trek. Animals are displayed indoors in tropical pavilions and outdoors in naturalistic environments, with viewing at many levels.
NEW for 2019: Special exhibit 'Washed Ashore: Art to Save the Sea' from May-November 2019 where you can see 10 larger-than-life sculptures made completely from plastic found in waterways and oceans around the world. Plus, climb through the trees in our Wild Rouge Zipline & Canopy Tour, take a stroll down under in our Kangaroo Walk Thru or go behind-the-scenes on one of our NEW Wild Animal Encounters. Meet our baby pygmy hippo Penelope and baby gorilla Charlie in the African Rainforest before visiting one of the largest reptiles in the world, our Aldabra tortoises Rasputin, Queenie and Malila. Plus, visit Amur tigers Vasili and Kira. These endangered tigers are the largest of all sub-species of tiger and are returning to the Zoo for the first time since 2012.

Family Programs are developed to provide a learning environment for both adults and children about a variety of animal related topics. Each program includes guided tours of portions of the Zoo, theme-related activities, as well as an opportunity to meet animal experts and the animals that they work with.

KIDS BIRTHDAY PARTIES
Calling all party animals! Create your own WILD birthday party with one of three party packages. Zoo birthday parties are customizable for groups of any size and are fun for all ages! A Group Events Associate will assist you in organizing the purrrfect birthday celebration for your cub!
