Roseneath Theatre produces award-winning professional plays on social justice and equity themes that tour to schools across Ontario, Canada and the US. Our local family programs include PA Day, March Break and Summer Drama Camps for kids 6-12 as well as a Youth Leadership program for young people 12-18.

With a maximum enrolment of 20 children aged 6-11, our PA Drama Camps are led by Roseneath Theatre’s Professional Drama Educators and supported by members of our Youth Leadership Program and members of Roseneath Theatre’s staff.

When the theatre’s production schedule aligns, campers may have the opportunity to meet some of our professional performing artists, observe rehearsals or see performances of our plays during the camp day.
Throughout the day participants will explore the dramatic arts through:

• Drama, improv and parachute games
• Exploration and performance of scenes from Roseneath plays
• Arts and Crafts
• Dress-up and creative play
• An outdoor adventure at a local park
• Other activities involving imagination, creative expression and physical activity

Roseneath Theatre’s week-long, full day camps are led by our professional artist educators, guest artists and supported by youth counsellors who have been trained through Roseneath’s Youth Leadership Program.

An active and engaging week of creativity and fun for kids who have a keen interest in the performing arts. The week will involve collectively creating a theatrical presentation for family and friends, which will be presented at the end of the Friday camp day. Campers will work together with our Artist Educator to choose themes and content that they are excited by. The campers will participate in learning about all aspects of theatre creation and production and will have the opportunity to explore areas of greatest interest more fully. In addition to acting, writing, musical theatre, (including dance and vocals) and improvisation, campers will have the opportunity to make their own costumes, props and set pieces, with mentorship from our Guest Artists and Staff. There will be daily outings to local parks and splash pads.
