Description:

Although small, the zoo is home to over 45 animals that represent 11 different species of mammals and birds.

Established in the 1890s to keep deer, the park's animal paddocks have always been a popular attraction. Today, nine paddocks are home to a variety of animal species from around the world including bison, llamas, peacocks, reindeer, highland cattle, wallabies, emus, and sheep. Other roaming animals you may spot include squirrels, racoons, groundhogs, foxes, and skunks.

The llama pens are open to the public on weekends and holidays for special activities and feedings, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm (between March and October).

The High Park Zoo is open every day from 7:00 am to dusk.

You can access the zoo on foot or by bicycle at the park's main entrances on Bloor Street (to the north) and Queensway Avenue (to the south). There are also numerous entrances along the eastern boundary of the park on Parkside Drive. You’ll find ample parking in High Park, with a large parking lot located in front of the zoo entrance.

Admission to the Zoo is free.
