Come and explore the ornamental gardens and naturalized trails of the Humber Arboretum, a roughly 250 acre urban greenspace in North Etobicoke. Located on the banks of the West Humber River behind Humber College’s North Campus, the Humber Arboretum is a joint venture of Humber College, the City of Toronto, and the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority. The grounds are free* to visit during daylight hours and a variety of special events and programming take place throughout the year.

The Humber Arboretum’s Nature Camp offers fun days full of nature connection for ages 5-12. Although the camps are based out the LEED Gold Certified Centre for Urban Ecology, kids will spend most of their time outdoors in the woodlands, gardens, meadows, ponds, wetlands and river with seasonal activities based around daily or weekly themes. Camps take place three times a year:

• Summer Camp (July and August)
• Winter Break Camp
• March Break Camp

Active and engaging, this specialized summer day camp is for curious youth aged 12-13 and focuses on developing skills while exploring the West Humber Valley’s flora and fauna in greater detail.

Is your child’s daycare, summer camp, club, or school looking for somewhere to go on a field trip? The Humber Arboretum’s Nature Interpretation staff run half-day and full-day programs and tours on a variety of topics. Visit the School Programs page in the “Learn” section of the website to find out more.

The Humber Arboretum hosts a variety of community events throughout the year, including tours, gardening workshops, natural mindfulness sessions, bird walks, family nature connection outings and more. Visit the website or Facebook page and subscribe to our newsletter to stay up-to-date with all of the activities at the Humber Arboretum.

Planning a family celebration or group outing? Subject to availability, the two levels of the Centre for Urban Ecology may be rented together or separately, and staff may be booked for themed tours or individualized activities. Visit the Weddings & Rentals section of our website to learn more and send an inquiry.

*Please note that parking is shared with Humber College and is very limited on weekdays when there is also a fee. Parking is free and widely available on weekends; the campus is also well-served by public transit.
