Programs for Children and Youth:

Friendship Club: A Social Skills/Socialization training program helping children and youth learn essential skills for making and keeping friends. Our program provides opportunities for developing important and positive peer relationships.

Creative Arts for Kids: Provides a specialized program to teach children about the various art forms through a structured an interactive program. The Creative Arts is a great way for children with a Learning Disabilities and/or AD(H)D build confidence in themselves and their abilities.

Keyboarding for Kids: A technology based program aimed at providing basic and essential typing skills. These skills will equip children/youth with the ability to use the computer to assist them in all aspects of learning.

Summer Computer Camp for Kids: Is a great way for children to learn valuable keyboarding skills over the summer. In addition to training on Read and Write Gold and Kurzweil 3000 software with fun recreational activities in the afternoon.

Keyboarding at Montcrest: Provides a comfortable and receptive environment where children can acquire keyboarding skills.

Smart Kidz Tutoring Program: Provides LD-specific remediation that takes into account various learning styles.

Mindfulness for Kids: This program aims to increase participant’s awareness and ability to focus in the present and develop awareness of their thoughts, their feelings and their environment.

Youth Workshops: Two workshops are offered to promote organization and study skills, and to prepare students transitioning from Elementary School into High School.

Youth Group: Youth will develop social skills, life skills and problem solving skills to help them be socially successful now and in the years to come. Skills such as goal setting, self awareness and peer pressure are just the beginning of skills that will be taught in this youth friendly program.

Young Adult Group: This specialized program helps to guide young adults through this transition phase into adulthood. Focusing on developing social skills, employment skills and problem solving skills to feel ready when faced with decisions about post-secondary opportunities, advocating for services, and navigating the workplace.

Programs for Parents:

Parent Support Group: Is a friendly and non-judgmental place that offers practical strategies to parents for enhancing the social-emotional development of their child.

Preparing the Parent Workshop Series: This multi-informative workshop series provides parents with access to the latest information on Learning Disabilities and/or AD(H)D. It covers topics such as Understanding the IEP/IPRC Process, Solution Focused Parent Teacher Interviews, Homework without the Tears, and The Science of Dyslexia.
