Toronto Light Festival

The Toronto Light Festival, the City’s first-ever light art festival, is coming back to The Distillery District from January 18 to March 3. The Festival will transform the neighbourhood into one of the largest open-air galleries in North America, lighting up the long winter nights with distinctive works from local and international light artists. This winter, Torontonians of all ages are to come out of the dark and into the light. Free admission. More

Public Skating at Evergreen Brick Works

Skating is back! Visit Evergreen's picturesque outdoor skating rink. Bring your own skates or rent a pair of ours! Skating is free, and skate rentals are available for $5 a pair. Join us weekends December through to March, and come out to our new Wednesday night public skate starting in January! More

Winter Light Exhibition at Ontario Place

Utilizing creativity, innovation, and light, creators from all artistic streams showcase 18 exhibits following the curatorial theme of “Disruptive Engagement”. Solar Observing at Ontario Science Centre

Safely observe the sun with specially filtered telescopes. Learn about our nearest star and try your eye at spotting exotic surface features, including sunspots, spicules and prominences. This program is offered by members of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada. Free admission. More

Ontario Family Fishing Events is a province-wide opportunity for Canadian residents to fish Ontario waters without the otherwise mandatory fishing version outdoors card. The Ontario Government designates this period as license-free: February 16-18, 2019 (12:01 a.m. Saturday to 11:59 p.m. Monday). During all other time periods, Canadian residents between the ages of 18 and 64 years must purchase a valid fishing license to legally fish in Ontario. There has never been a better time to introduce a friend to fishing! More
