The Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) is an art museum in Toronto's Downtown Grange Park district, on Dundas Street West between McCaul Street and Beverley Street. Its collection includes more than 80,000 works spanning the 1st century to the present-day. The gallery has 45,000 square metres (480,000 sq ft) of physical space, making it one of the largest galleries in North America.

New TD Gallery Exhibit is All About Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Alice Opens the Door is a family-oriented exhibit focused on the enduring literary classic, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. The exhibit celebrates Lewis Carroll’s fantastical story that opened the door to reading for generations of children.

DJ Skate Nights at Harbourfront

Sharpen your skates and skills as Toronto’s number one outdoor winter party returns with another stellar lineup of DJs that will bring the heat to your Saturday nights. The rumours are true, DJ Skate Nights is the best party in town and a surefire cure for the winter blues! Free admission.

Public Skating at Evergreen Brick Works
Until March 17, 2019
Skating is back! Visit Evergreen's picturesque outdoor skating rink. Bring your own skates or rent a pair of ours! Skating is free, and skate rentals are available for $5 a pair. Join us weekends December through to March, and come out to our new Wednesday night public skate starting in January!

Winter Light Exhibition at Ontario Place
Until March 17, 2019
Utilizing creativity, innovation, and light, creators from all artistic streams showcase 18 exhibits following the curatorial theme of “Disruptive Engagement”. Additional activities include free public skating and community bonfires where guests can make S’mores. New this year, DJ skate parties hosted by some of Toronto’s best DJs.

The Natrel® Rink at Harbourfront
Until March 2019
Set against the beautiful shoreline of Lake Ontario, the city's most scenic rink awaits! The Natrel Rink has been an unparalleled skating destination in Toronto for 30 years. It has a heated indoor change room with lockers and washrooms. Best of all – skating is FREE! Hot food and drinks are available at our rink-side restaurant, Boxcar Social. The Rink usually opens mid to end of November, weather permitting.

Skating Parties at Ontario Place

This winter Ontario Place is hosting our very own skate parties, featuring some of Toronto’s best local DJ’s to keep the tunes going while you skate. Free admission.

Spectacle of Lights on Toronto's Waterfront
Until April 2019
Witness three stunning illuminated sights this holiday season during the Spectacle of Lights on Toronto’s Waterfront. See the Toronto Music Garden come alive with a fully-animated lighting experience where music notes, harps and canopy will be shining bright over 39,000 long-life, low-energy LED lights.

Winter Bird Count 4 Kids
January 5, 2019
Tommy Thompson Park is hosting our annual Winter Bird Count for Kids*, in partnership with Bird Studies Canada. This is a fun, family-friendly bird watching event that promotes nature appreciation and environmental stewardship. Everyone is welcome, from beginner to expert birders! Free.

January Weekends at Scarborough Museum
January 5, 2019 to January 27, 2019
Warm up after your toboggan time with hot chocolate and creamy potato soup warmed over the open hearth fire! A craft and scavenger hunt will get the kids moving again after these delicious treats. It's cozy family fun all month long at Scarborough Museum. Admission is Pay-What-You-Can.

If you are looking for a fun activity to do with the family, Home Depot offers a great workshop for kids that will teach them about building. Kids can learn how to build their very own Easel with Whiteboard on January 12. Free admission.

Evergreen's Winter Wednesdays

Make the most of those chilly winter nights at Evergreen’s Winter Wednesdays! Skate under the stars on our picturesque outdoor skating rink; Grab a hot chocolate (or something stronger) at our Sipping Station; Cozy up around the fire with some street fare from our food trucks and other free activities!

Family Literacy Day Party on P.A. Day
January 18, 2019
In celebration of Family Literacy Day, Steeles Library is hosting a “Family Literacy Party” on P.A. Day for parents / guardians and their 4-7 year olds.  This interactive event will feature hands-on booths, stories, games, and prizes.  Families will be encouraged to include literacy activities in their daily lives. Free admission.

Toronto Light Festival
January 18, 2019 to March 3, 2019
The Toronto Light Festival, the City’s first-ever light art festival, is coming back to The Distillery District from January 18 to March 3. The Festival will transform the neighbourhood into one of the largest open-air galleries in North America, lighting up the long winter nights with distinctive works from local and international light artists. This winter, Torontonians of all ages are to come out of the dark and into the light. Free admission.

Amazing Animal Adaptations - Family Nature Walk
