Toronto Light Festival
Until March 3, 2019
The Toronto Light Festival, the City’s first-ever light art festival, is coming back to The Distillery District from January 18 to March 3. The Festival will transform the neighbourhood into one of the largest open-air galleries in North America, lighting up the long winter nights with distinctive works from local and international light artists. This winter, Torontonians of all ages are to come out of the dark and into the light. Free admission. More

Skating Parties at Ontario Place

This winter Ontario Place is hosting our very own skate parties, featuring some of Toronto’s best local DJ’s to keep the tunes going while you skate. Free admission. More

Public Skating at Evergreen Brick Works
Until March 17, 2019
Skating is back! Visit Evergreen's picturesque outdoor skating rink. Bring your own skates or rent a pair of ours! Skating is free, and skate rentals are available for $5 a pair. Join us weekends December through to March, and come out to our new Wednesday night public skate starting in January! More

Winter Light Exhibition at Ontario Place
Until March 17, 2019
Utilizing creativity, innovation, and light, creators from all artistic streams showcase 18 exhibits following the curatorial theme of “Disruptive Engagement”. Additional activities include free public skating and community bonfires where guests can make S’mores. New this year, DJ skate parties hosted by some of Toronto’s best DJs. More

The Natrel® Rink at Harbourfront

Set against the beautiful shoreline of Lake Ontario, the city's most scenic rink awaits! The Natrel Rink has been an unparalleled skating destination in Toronto for 30 years. It has a heated indoor change room with lockers and washrooms. Best of all – skating is FREE! Hot food and drinks are available at our rink-side restaurant, Boxcar Social. The Rink usually opens mid to end of November, weather permitting. More

Spiders Alive! at Royal Botanical Gardens
Until April 14, 2019
The RBG has We've invited spiders and their arthropod friends to crawl on over for a visit this winter. Explore amazing adaptations and behaviours of spiders and other many-legged creatures in two interactive exhibits and daily programs for all ages. The exhibition includes larger-than-life models of spiders, a climbable spider model 50 times life size, and a rare 100-million-year-old fossil of a spider in limestone. More

Zuul: Life of an Armoured Dinosaur at the ROM

Zuul: Life of an Armoured Dinosaur takes you on a hands-on, interactive journey into Zuul’s world; from its discovery in 2014 and the fascinating research being done to further our understanding of these powerful animals, to Zuul’s life in the lush Cretaceous period 76 million years ago, where its body armour and tail club were crucial for defence. So, grab your gear, lace up your boots, and travel back in time millions of years to explore the life of an armoured dinosaur. More

Guided Night Snowshoe Hikes at Scenic Caves Nordic Centre
February 16 and 17, 2019
Strap on your snowshoes for a night-time hike, where stars and shadows create a dramatic setting for adventure. Your experienced guides lead your group on a 1 ½ to 2 hour romp through an enchanting winter wonderland. Experience beautiful trails that wind through a mature forest of 100 foot tall trees, sparkling views of the countryside at the Suspension Bridge and breathtaking lookouts from the top of the Niagara Escarpment. No experience is required and the pace is moderate. Recommended for ages 10 and older. More
