School Closure Camps Being Offered in GTA




Due to the rotating school closures announced by ETFO that affect YRDSB and TDSB, and the need for parents to find quality care and activities for their kids, here's a list of companies offering day camps for children. Available camps will continue to be posted as they are announced so check this page for updates.

TRCA Camps
Camps are being offered at Black Creek Pioneer Village (Toronto), Claremont Nature Centre (Pickering), Lake St. George Field Centre (Richmond Hill), Kortright Centre for Conservation (Woodbridge) and Albion Hills Field Centre (Caledon) on February 21, 2020. More


The STEAM Project - Richmond Hill
The STEAM Project will be offering a strike camp on February 21. The STEAM Project's Youth Makerspace Campus is the perfect place for kids who love to create and build things (or take things apart). With access to robotics, electronics, woodworking, 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC milling, vinyl cutting and all kinds of tools and materials, it's a place where kids can MAKE anything! More. Day at the Gallery (McMichael Canadian Art Collection)
Developed to provide meaningful engagement for children during the upcoming school service interruptions, this program combines art studio activities and gallery visits with healthy outdoor hikes and games. $35/child. February 21. More


TAC Sports
Toronto Athletic Camp (TAC Sports) will be holding a Strike camp on February 21. More


Stem Minds

The Cube School is offering two days of camp on February 21. These camp days are full of fun and educational STEM activities for campers currently in grades 2 to 6! More


Pawsitively Pets
Full camp day option for parents needing care during the Friday, February 21 strike day. Programs available at: Leaside, Swansea Town Hall & St. Cuthbert's Church (South Leaside). Hands on animal time, animal care and animal based activities will give your child a fun filled day. Program is open to children 4-12 years old. Camp hours 9am to 4pm. Extended care available 8am - 9am and 4pm - 6pm. Cost $50 for the standard day (9am - 4pm). More


Downsview Park Strike Programming
On Friday February 21st, if schools are closed due to a strike, Downsview Park will be offering free family nature programming. Join us at Downsview Park between 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for a FREE morning of programming for the whole family. Visit the campfire to roast marshmallows and explore the forest in our Nature Play program. We recommend people wear layers to dress for the weather. Please note: This is a drop-in, not a drop-off program. Parent and/or guardian must be in attendance at the program. More

Royal Taekwondo located at 1580 Kingston Rd. in Scarborough is offering day camps during school strike days. Drop off time begins 8:00am and latest pickup time is 6:00pm. More


The Laird House
The Laird House is open for programming during the labour dispute. We cater to elementary aged students from grade 3 to 8. Environmental Studies, Active, Fun Games, Nutritious Lunches for purchase, Mindfulness Activities, Indigenous Art. All activities are taught in reference to the Ontario Educational Curriculum by Ontario Certified Teachers. Lollipop Art Lounge Strike Day Art and Wisdom Camps
Stories and Activities Focused on Friendship and Kindness. Schools will be closed on Monday 10 February and Tuesday 11 February due to strike action. We are running special Strike Day Art and Wisdom Camps on those days, at a reduced rate of $69 + HST per child, per day – 9am to 4pm. We're also offering three-hour sessions in the morning and afternoon – 9am to 12pm and 12pm to 3pm, at a rate of $39 + HST per child. Using a variety of mediums we will draw, paint, sculpt and make fun & creative crafts, with a theme of 'Friendship and Kindness'. Information for combined locations will be provided by your Program Supervisor. Additional fees will not be applied for this one day. More

The Ministry of Education will be providing financial support to parents to assist with costs they will be incurring due to the labour disruption. An application must be completed. Find out more here.
