Fun with Homemade Bubbles

It's time to enjoy the warmer weather! Homemade bubbles are great for outdoor fun and can create an afternoon full of silly play. And if some days get too hot to handle, these bubbles can be used indoors as well.

Just remember that if you’re using bubbles indoors, it can make hard surfaces slippery!

Here’s how to make your own bubble solution by mixing the following ingredients:

Homemade Bubbles

1 cup water
2 tablespoons glycerin
4 tablespoons dishwashing liquid

Homemade Coloured Bubbles

1 cup granulated soap or soap powder
1 quart warm water
Liquid food coloring

Use coloured bubbles outdoors and have the kids wear older clothing.

Homemade Bubble Wands

Try the following items to create fun bubble wands: Bend chenille stems into fun shapes and attach to a stick to create a wand. Or help kids shape giant wands with metal coat hangers. You can get really creative by grabbing the following items from your kitchen: a slotted spoon, funnels, mason jar lid rings, cookie cutters, or a cocktail strainer.

Pour bubble solution into a tray for easy dipping and have fun!
