What's better than a movie the entire family can enjoy? A free family-friendly movie. There are some terrific, free outdoor summer movie series running throughout the Greater Toronto Area this summer - so grab a chair or a blanket, and catch up on the latest releases.

Below is a list of parks and venues that will show free outdoor movies all summer long. 

Movie Nights at Celebration Square, Mississauga
May 24 to August 30, 2018
Let's Stargaze! Grab a blanket and join your friends and neighbours under the night sky at the City's biggest outdoor theatre. Watch classics, blockbuster hits and family feel-good favourites on the Celebration Square big screens.

Trinity Bellwoods Movie Night
June 19, 2018
Join the Trinity Bellwoods BIA for the third year of FREE outdoor movie nights in the dog bowl at Trinity Bellwoods Park! The screening will begin at DUSK. We will be showing E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.

Sorauren Outdoor Movies in the Square
June 23, 2018 to September 22, 2018
The Outdoor Movie Season returns the fourth Saturday of every month June to September. NEW! Pizza Dinners before the movies from the new Sorauren Park Pizza Oven, prepared and presented by Pizzeria Defina.

The Beach Village Movie Nights
July 4 to August 29, 2018
Movie Nights are back for 2018! Join The Beach Village for Movie Nights in the Park every Wednesday starting July 4 – August 29! Movies screenings will rotate between Kew Gardens and Ivan Forrest Gardens Park. As always, admission (and popcorn!) is FREE! Come out and experience movies under the stars.​

The City of Burlington’s Movies Under The Stars
July 5 to August 16, 2018
Join us in your local neighbourhood for free Movies Under the Stars. Bring your own chair and blanket for an outdoor movie in your community park. Movies begin at 9pm every Thursday from July 5th until August 16th.

Free Movies as part of Cultura Festival
July 6 to July 27, 2018
This Multicultural festival featuring family friendly music, buskers, international foods, kids' activities and more, takes place over 4 Fridays at Mel Lastman Square. Admission is free and each Friday features a new movie!

Friday Night Lights at Downsview Park
July 6, 2018 to September 7, 2018
Our popular summer outdoor movie program returns in an all new location! Join us this summer as we screen a variety of recent family-friendly flicks at the Park’s outdoor football field & running track. Bring a lawn chair or blanket (and a friend), and be sure to arrive early to enter our raffle for a chance to win a prize pack!

Our summer screening series runs every Wednesday from July 11 – August 15. Now in its fifth year Under the Stars has grown into Regent Park’s largest summer community event. All activities and movies are free!

Moonlight Movies in Richmond Hill
August 8 to August 29, 2018
Richmond Hill's Moonlight Movies series is an outdoor cinema experience during the summer months. It's free and all you need to bring is a blanket or lawn chair. Movies start when the sun goes down. Pre-movie fun starts at 7 p.m.​

Moonlight Movies Newmarket
August 8 to August 30, 2018
Enjoy an outdoor movie on a huge inflatable screen under the stars. Don't forget to bring a lawn chair, blanket and snack to enjoy during the movie. Free popcorn will be provided.

Toronto Port Authority Presents Sail-In Cinema
August 10 to August 11, 2018
In August, Canada’s Sugar Beach will transform into Toronto’s largest outdoor movie theatre over two nights. Movies will be shown under the open skies on a two-sided screen set atop a barge in Toronto Harbour. You can watch movies for free from Sugar Beach or Lake Ontario, and this year there are no tickets required to attend.
