Toronto Port Authority Presents Sail-In Cinema

If you missed any of the great movies that hit the big screen this year, you'll likely be able to see them in a park this summer! Best of all, these screenings are all Free! So grab a chair or a blanket, and catch up on the latest releases. 

Below is a list of parks and venues that will show free outdoor movies all summer long. 


Movie Nights at Celebration Square, Mississauga
May 23 to August 29, 2019
Grab a blanket and join your friends and neighbours under the night sky for Movie Nights! Celebration Square is a fully-accessible outdoor space that is open to all members of the community. Watch classics, blockbuster hits and family feel-good favourites on the big screens.

Union Summer Events & Free Movies
May 31, 2019 to August 3, 2019
Union Summer - Presented by TD, returns for the annual summer market, bringing together Toronto's top chefs, musicians, free film screenings and live performances to Union Station.

Trinity Bellwoods Movie Night
June 18 to August 13, 2019
Join the Trinity Bellwoods BIA for the fourth  year of FREE outdoor movie nights in the dog bowl at Trinity Bellwoods Park! The screenings will begin at DUSK.

The Beach Village Movie Nights
July 3, 2019 to August 28, 2019
Movie Nights are back for 2019! Join The Beach Village for Movie Nights in the Park every Wednesday starting July 3 – August 28! Movies screenings will rotate between Kew Gardens and Ivan Forrest Gardens Park. Come out early to save a seat and enjoy some entertainment before the show.

The City of Burlington’s Movies Under The Stars
July 4, 2019 to August 15, 2019
Join us in your local neighbourhood for free Movies Under the Stars. Bring your own chair and blanket for an outdoor movie in your community park.

Free Movies as part of Cultura Festival
July 5, 2019 to July 23, 2019
This Multicultural festival featuring family friendly music, buskers, international foods, kids' activities and more, takes place over 4 Fridays at Mel Lastman Square. Admission is free and each Friday features a new movie!

This popular summer outdoor movie program returns in an all new location! Join us this summer as we screen a variety of recent family-friendly flicks at the Park’s outdoor football field & running track. Bring a lawn chair or blanket (and a friend), and be sure to arrive early.

Under the Stars: Movies in the Park at Regent Park
July 10, 2019 to August 14, 2019
Summer screening series runs every Wednesday from July 10 – August 14. Now in its sixth year Under the Stars has grown into Regent Park’s largest summer community event. All activities and movies are free!

Movies in the Park Whitby
July 12, 2019 to August 23, 2019
Bring your lawn chair, blankets and popcorn and watch a movie under the stars on a large, outdoor screen with concert quality sound. Movies in the Park take place at Whitby Civic Park (behind Town Hall).

Moonlight Movies in Richmond Hill
August 7 to August 28, 2019
Richmond Hill's Moonlight Movies series is an outdoor cinema experience during the summer months. It's free and all you need to bring is a blanket or lawn chair. Movies start when the sun goes down. Pre-movie fun starts at 7 p.m.​

August 22 and August 29, 2019

Dates TBA
Enjoy an outdoor movie on a huge inflatable screen under the stars. Don't forget to bring a lawn chair, blanket and snack to enjoy during the movie. Free popcorn will be provided.

Toronto Port Authority Presents Sail-In Cinema
Cancelled for 2019
Every August, Canada’s Sugar Beach will transform into Toronto’s largest outdoor movie theatre over two nights. Movies will be shown under the open skies on a two-sided screen set atop a barge in Toronto Harbour. You can watch movies for free from Sugar Beach or Lake Ontario, and this year there are no tickets required to attend.
