Camp Tamakwa is a children’s residential Summer camp located 2.5 hours north of Toronto in beautiful Algonquin Park, Ontario. Tamakwa's rich traditions, family atmosphere, and unique site distinguish itself along with a diversified program of over 20 activities and a premier canoe tripping program.
For over 78 years Tamakwa has been providing campers from across North America with an opportunity to develop important life skills, build self confidence, foster lifelong friendships, embrace traditional camping values, and return home with an enriched outlook. This camp is showing kids that there is life and fun without Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube!
Tamakwa also makes the transition to overnight camp easier!
Tamakwa believes that every child is unique and ready to venture into overnight camp at their own time and in their own way. With this in mind, Tamakwa now offers a few different options to start your little one off on the right foot. For those looking for an itty bitty taste, check out their 1 day program called the 'Tamakwa Teaser.' Yup, it's just one day in glorious Algonquin Park but it's a great, jam packed day. Starting with snacks and a sing-song on the bus ride up, a beach party, trying 5-6 activities, outdoor lunch, sneak peak at a camp drama production, BBQ dinner, and so much more, this day is sure to show you what makes Tamakwa so special. This year's Tamakwa Teaser takes place on Friday, July 18, 2014.
For those looking for a bit more, there is a weekend option in August in partnership with Adventure Valley Day Camp and of course, Tamakwa's new Family Camp weekend. Family Camp is a great way to show your kids all the fun of overnight camp while reliving your youth at the same time! Family Camp takes place Friday, August 29 through Sunday, August 31, 2014.
Finally, for those campers that really want the FULL camp experience, there is Tamakwa's special Junior Tamakwan (JT) 2 week program for campers ages 7-9. This 2 week option provides a warm, nurturing, and fun environment that will have your camper smiling every day.
Camp Tamakwa takes great pride in its camp spirit and energy, core values, and providing a safe and nurturing environment where kids can do what they do best... be themselves.
