New Netflix Series: How to Train Your Dragon Debuts in June

The soaring adventures of Hiccup and Toothless won’t be confined just to movie theatres. On June 26, the characters of How to Train Your Dragon will take flight in an all-new original animated series premiering in its entirety on Netflix .

In DreamWorks Animation’s Dragons: Race to the Edge, Hiccup and Toothless lead the Dragon Riders as they soar beyond the borders of Berk and discover the mysterious Dragon Eye, an ancient artifact filled with secrets that will lead them to new lands filled with undiscovered dragons. But the heroes find themselves pursued by marauding dragon hunters, who will stop at nothing to seize the power of the Dragon Eye.

Since its debut in the 2010 film, the How to Train Your Dragon franchise has expanded into short films, video games, a live-action ice and arena show, and a Cartoon Network series all taking place between the original film and its 2014 sequel. Race to the Edge will continue the story on Netflix, while How to Train Your Dragon 3 is expected for release in theatres, in 2018.

Here’s a trailer for the new series, which will debut all episodes on June 26.
