The Day the Ocean Disappeared

To complement Out of the Depths: The Blue Whale Story exhibition, the ROM has published a picture book: The Day the Ocean Disappeared, written by Denise Dias, a ROM communications professional, and illustrated by Tara Winterhalt, a senior designer with the ROM. The two have previously teamed up for Burton & Isabelle Pipistrelle: Out of the Bat Cave, also published by the ROM.

The Day the Ocean Disappeared is an imaginative story that follows Zula the blue whale on an incredible journey throughout the ROM, where she explores fascinating galleries and labs that teach her about her species and give her a new sense of confidence.

The book is suitable for curious readers ages 3-7 and available for $14.99 at the ROM and all major bookstores. You can also purchase the book online at https://shop.rom.on.ca/a525/the-day-the-ocean-disappeared.html.

The Out of the Depths exhibition is currently showing at the ROM until September 4, 2017. Find out more at www.rom.on.ca/en/blue-whale.
