Verbeek Glass Studio

New Art Glass Teaching Studio in Leslieville

Verbeek Glass Studio is a new working and teaching glass studio for all ages run by local award-winning glass artist Layne Verbeek. The studio is a kiln-based glass studio versus a glass blowing or lamp (torch) working studio, where a wide range of fused glass items can be made. Kids can create suncatchers, night lights, ornaments, small bowls and much more. Teens, parents and grandparents can make all of these and larger pieces too. No experience is necessary.

Glass is an amazing material and people are continually surprised how good their first work comes out. As there are many methods for cutting and working with glass. It is safe for all ages, and previous glass working or experience in art is not needed. Every class starts with safety and orientation.

And if you're looking for a unique Birthday Party ideas, kids can also celebrate their special day at the studio with a glass art making party.

The studio offers a wide range of fun classes for all ages, 5 and up:

1. A wide variety of glass classes tailored to your child’s age and ability, starting from age 5
2. Family and or group classes of up to 10
3. Birthday parties (snacks but no meals)
4. A wide range of fused and kiln formed glass workshops for teens and adults
5. A gallery space that features Studio Glass gifts and glass sculptures by the owner

Recent students who have taken a beginner class have said:

Absolutely more than I could have expected!!

It was lots of fun, and, at the same time, creating is something so new for me.”

Who would have thought that, after 3 classes, I could have made a glass bowl like this!
