November is National Model Railroad Month. You don’t need to be headed anywhere to experience the magic of trains. Just ride on any of the tourist railroads operating in and around the GTA, on a short scenic tour. Most feature vintage equipment (steam engines, trolleys, antique passenger cars). Celebrate Winter at RBG with Holiday Traditions, RBG’s annual holiday season event featuring Canada’s best all-botanical model train installation. You’ll find Canadian highlights in RBG Centre and a new train in the Mediterranean Garden featuring Wonders of the World. Weekends are filled with seasonal activities, musical entertainment, local school and adult choirs, light and model train displays, and a traditional Santa.
Santa Train Rides

We have received news from the North Pole that Santa will be riding the York-Durham Heritage Railway train departing from the Uxbridge station only on Saturdays and Sundays beginning on November 16. Each trip lasts approximately 1 hour and has on-board entertainment for children of all ages. Santa will be visiting each child at their seat and distributing goodies to each.

This is great family fun for all.
Scarborough Model Railroaders Train Show

The Scarborough Model Railroaders Club is celebrating its 48th anniversary as a club this year. They are Toronto's only dual scale model railway club. The HO scale layout models 1950s transition era southwestern Ontario. Our N scale layout is loosely based upon modern-era Appalachia. Kids can marvel at the skills of the modellers and catch up on what is new in the club.
